At the Bishop’s Stortford Town Council meeting on Monday 10th October, Councillor David Snowdon will be proposing a motion regarding the sale of Green Belt Land including Thorley Lane East Woods, seconded by Councillor Diane Hollebon.
The motion outlines the strength of community feeling about the sale of Green Belt land in small parcels.
It asks the Mayor to write to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to raise the issue, and ask for new legislation in this area.
It also asks the Council’s CEO to monitor the situation to see if there is a future opportunity for the Town Council to acquire the land at non-development land prices.
